How do I set up SpellHive for my family?
Open the app and choose "My Family," then add each child by name, avatar, and grade level. From then on, everyone picks their name from "Who's Spelling Today?" to start practicing, no typing or accounts needed for kids.
Do I have to create an account?
No. Tap "Continue as Guest" to use every feature immediately. You can sign in with Apple or Google at any time afterward to back up your progress and use it across devices, without losing anything you've already done as a guest.
How do I sign out?
Go to Parent/Teacher Zone, enter your PIN, then open "My Account" and tap "Sign Out." (Guests don't see this option, since a guest session has no separate account to sign back into.)
How do I delete my account and data?
iOS: go to Parent/Teacher Zone → My Account → "Delete My Account & Data," then confirm. Android: open Account in the workspace menu (enter your Parent PIN first if a child's practice screen is showing), tick the confirmation box and tap "Delete account." Either way, this permanently deletes every child's profile and progress on the account and cannot be undone. Web, or without the app: email spellhive@gmail.com and we'll delete your data within 30 days. Full steps: Delete your SpellHive account.
I forgot my Parent PIN. How do I reset it?
There's currently no self-service PIN reset in the app. Email spellhive@gmail.com from the address associated with your account (or describe your situation if you're using a guest account) and we'll help you regain access.
Can I add my own spelling words?
Yes. In Parent/Teacher Zone, open "Manage Word Lists" and choose to import a spreadsheet, type or paste a list directly, or scan a paper list with your camera. You'll review and edit the words before anything is saved.
What is "Missed Words" mode?
It's a practice session built automatically from words your child has previously gotten wrong, so practice time targets exactly what needs the most work.
Can I control which categories my child practices?
Yes. Parent/Teacher Zone lists every category and custom word list with a toggle, plus an eye icon to preview the words in it before deciding.
