Delete your SpellHive account

For the SpellHive apps on Android, iOS and the web

You can permanently delete your SpellHive account and all of its data at any time, either inside the app or by sending us a request.

What gets deleted

• Your SpellHive account, and the Google or Apple sign-in linked to it
• Every child, class and student on the account, with all of their practice progress
• Your custom word lists
• Student join codes (devices using them lose access)
• Any school staff membership

Deletion can't be undone. To confirm that a deletion has finished, we keep a minimal record with only the deleted account's internal ID, the deletion status, timestamps and a one-way hash of a random confirmation code. It contains no name, email or practice data.

In the Android app

1. Open SpellHive. If it is showing a child's practice screen, tap Parent Zone and enter your Parent PIN.
2. Open Account in the workspace menu.
3. Under Delete account, tick "I understand my account and all of its data will be permanently deleted."
4. Tap Delete account. If you signed in with Google, choose the same Google account to confirm.

Deletion usually finishes within a few minutes. If you lose your connection, reopen the app and it will finish or tell you what to do next.

In the iOS app

Go to Parent/Teacher Zone → My Account → Delete My Account & Data, then confirm.

Without the app (including web accounts)

Email spellhive@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my SpellHive account":

• Send it from the email address you sign in with, so we can match the account.
• If you used SpellHive as a guest, describe the device and the child or class names you created, since a guest account has no email.

We may reply to confirm that the request came from you. We delete the account and its data within 30 days of confirming, and email you when it's done.
